Q.The Trunk Of My Bottlebrush Has Grown Too High

The neighbouring property had large trees overshadowing my fence. My mature calistemon Grew very tall and crookedly to fund the sun. I now have trees that are trunk only for a height of about 6 feet with healthy branches and leaves above but want to know if I an prune back the actual trunk so that the branches and leaves will sprout further down, creating a shorter tree?

This article will tell you how and when to prune a bottlebrush. It's best to trim lightly, but more often. You should never prune a tree or shrub more than 25 or 30 percent at a time. Here is more:
