Q.The Main Stem Of My Borage Plant Is Bent In Half. Will It Recover? Can I Plant It Above The Bend?

Zone 78759 | Lisa White added on April 2, 2023 | Answered

I bought some borage from a local nursery a few weeks ago. I have not had time to plant them yet, but have kept them inside. They produced flowers and look very nice. I forgot to water my borage for 2 days. It drooped down and the main stem of the plant is now bent at a 90 degree (or more) angle. I went ahead and transplanted them outside and used stakes to hold the plants up. I am wondering if they will survive, or if I need to do something special with them, or, are they already a lost cause?

Unfortunately, your photos did not come through. I am unable to see the extent of the damage. I would recommend what you have done, already. Staking them up will likely be the best option.
