Soft leaves can indicate overwatering, over fertilizing, disease, or root rot. It's hard to tell what those brown spots are in the photo, it could be scale or aphids. If you think it has been overwatered, repot the plant in fresh, well draining soil in a clean container. Let the soil dry out between waterings. You may also want to take some cuttings of healthy leaves and root them, just in case you lose the plant. These articles should help:
