Do you fertilize the palm? There are several problems that can arise due to nutritional deficits, which include browning of the new growth. Another question to ask about is the drainage? Is it planted in well-draining soil? If not, work compost or peat moss in around the edges. Is it getting sufficient water? With the center browning like that, it seems to be a drainage issue or improper watering. A cold snap also can cause interior browning. Diseases like bud rot are usually fatal.
