Am I able to prune it back at all & how would I do this. Many thanks Jenny Richards
Yes, you can prune this plant. This article should help you:
I have several yucca plants growing in one area. This summer they all became infested with quick bugs (yucca plant bugs). From what I read, I have to spray yucca thoroughly and repeat several times. I tried... but it's impossible (for me) to spray all these leaves. I am wondering if I can instead cut all the leaves to the ground now, in October? Will this eliminate the bugs? Should I treat the soil or these bugs only live on leaves?
I don't think I would recommend cutting the whole thing down... I have a recipe that makes quick work of both pests, and soil infections. If you don't have everything in the recipe that is ok, but the more you have the better it works. The recipe is as follows:
First, you will want to prime the soil with dolomitic lime, then spread wettable sulfur to Kill off any infection in the soil. I Also like to spray the plant itself. Mix a few drops of one or more of these ingredients into warm water with a spoonful of coconut oil: Rosemary oil, lavender oil, neem oil, garlic oil, cinnamon extract/oil and for really bad cases, also add clove oil.
I live in Southern Colrado and mt yucca plant blossomed and now I have many seeds from that plant. My question is when is the best time to plant the seeds and how deep do I plant them ?
This can take somewhere around a month or so. There are a few steps required before they will germinate, though. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/yucca-seed-pods.htm
What do I do after the plant has flowered? It is the 1st of November and my plant is still in flower.
There isn't a lot of care required for this. If you would like, once the flower dries you can cut the stalk out. If the seeds have matured you may plant these as well. Here is an article on yucca care: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/caring-for-and-landscaping-with-yuccas-outdoors.htm
When leaves turn brown and wither should I cut them off or leave them ?
You can cut them off. Most of the time this is part of the normal life cycle of the plant, and no cause for concern. This article will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/yucca-turning-brown.htm
My Yucca plant is about 5ft with the leaves at the end. on the bottom near the pot 2 branches have no leaves on. Can I cut the long one.
These will usually tolerate pruning such as this. If you could include a picture then I could better assist you. Here is an article for more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/yucca/yucca-plants-care-and-pruning-tips-for-pruning-a-yucca.htm
