I have just planted some Cyclamen plants in an raised bed and they are mixed with some jasmine shrubs (also newly planted). I have a timed watering system that runs at 7am for twenty minutes and again at 7pm for 20 minutes. The soil is mainly outdoor potting soil.Am I watering too much?
You will need to check the soil. Watering on a regular schedule is not recommended. Actually check the soil to make sure it is draining well.
Do wet and the tubers may rot.

I'm excited. I love the idea of having plants around but I haven't a clue of how to care for them. I just bought a foil in combination garden where the drainage pipes in another pot without holes. Should I continue to leave it like that or do I take it out of there when I water it, then put it back?
I agree, having green plants in your home is wonderful!, especially with the winter months soon to arrive.
All containers or pots should have a drainage hole. It's important for excess water to be able to drain away from the soil so that the plant does not develop root rot.
You can water the plant and allow it to drain for a few minutes, then place back in the secondary container.

If I water my plants before frost comes, will it keep my plants from dying?
Watering can help as the wet soil will insulate better.

We are using soaker hoses in our vegetable garden. I will do a test to see how long to run the hoses, but my question is: should I run the hoses every day a little or every couple days and run them longer? Last year I ran the hose every day, but only for 15 minutes. Thanks! Sharon
How long to run the soaker hose watering will depend on the soil, temperatures and the types of plants you have.
The article below will help you in planning your watering schedule.

I bought a moisture meter and there were no instructions. The read on my in ground roses was 3.3. What does this mean? Thank you!!!
You should be able to get some additional information from the meter manufacturer's website or over the phone if they have a customer service number, but this article also provides some additional ways to test moisture levels:

I have around 10 planters at my flat, which I keep in open and water them twice a day. I generally go out for couple of days and am just worried if that duration increases plants may die due to water shortage. I just wonder, what simple solution can be there. I thought if I can put a bucket, and then some rope/cloth kind of thing which may soak water via capillary action and quench the thirst. Not sure if it will work. Any other simple tips which may not require use of electricity? Thanks

Just installed drip irrigation. I purchased 1 gph emitter. How many per plant and how long a watering duration, and are those the correct emitters is what I would like to know. AVG. temp 80 to 95 summer time. Raised beds on hot side house. Beds are 2 ft x 8 ft x 16 in deep. These beds are to be used for tomatoes and peppers. I can also place different emitters since I haven't placed the plants or emitters. thanks AL
You'll want to set them according to the instructions on the package and by following the general rule of thumb of 1.5 to 2 inches of water per plant per week (due to your average temperature and location of the beds, your plants may need more).
