Lots of few flowered garlic appearing — am trying to pull out all the fine leaves (with bulblets attached), and am removing all, plus flower heads to bin. Don’t want to damage my snow drops.
Unfortunately, that will be the best method for removing these. It is best to remove them when the soil is wet, or take some water to do so. They will come out a lot easier that way.
They are in a very sheltered position. They are nearly under a hedge.
Snowdrops are one of the earliest blooming spring bulbs, ahead of daffodils. Yours are coming up so they should bloom soon. They only get about 4 inches tall. They typically bloom in January or February then go dormant till the next year.
I live in central CA where it is very hot and dry. A few clumps of snowdrops in two locations have been coming back every year since I have been living here 13 years. Both are in part shade. The backyard location gets water from the hose, the front yard has no water except negligible rainfall and leaves from the tree, The soil is very good there. I have only two deciduous trees there and I would love to grow lots of different kinds of bulbs there. What do you think?
It could very well be that the shade protects it just enough to allow it to survive. It may have adapted to its area over time. It could be a hardy relative, as well. I cannot confirm without photos.
I would be happy to send photos early next year when they pop up. Thank you.
Unfortunately, your zone and climate information isn't mentioned. It could be that you are at the edge of where they can survive, and this year may have been a little more harsh than usual.
In the meantime, this article will help you with their care:
due to the weather and snow covered ground I am unable to plant them
They tend to dry out and should be planted as soon as possible. If weather is still prohibitive, go ahead and plant them in containers inside, then transfer them outside when the weather is more amenable.

e that DOES NOT FREEZE over Winter. Can not Plant until early spring. Should I place the Snow Drop Bulbs in shallow rectangular plastic contains (No Lid) with Potting Soil, watering only lightly, Jan & Feb. How to i store my thousand of Snow Drop Bulbs. Cheers
Snow drops do not store well and should be planted soon after lifting. If that is not possible, I recommend doing as you suggested and planting them in containers so they do not dry out. When you plant them in your new home, disturb them as little as possible, sliding the potting soil and all into the new planting hole.
