I have had this rubber tree plant 4 years. I recieved it at my son's funeral and it is sentimental to me. It has gotten to over 5 feet but there are leaves only on the very top. (About the top foot has leaves. It is bare from there down. ) What can I do to get leaves to grow towards the bottom?
You can cut it back without harming the plant and it will regrow. Pruning will help to force some branching. You can prune the main trunk, just above a node. What will happen is that just below where you cut, eventually two new shoots will grow out and become new branches. I have a very large rubber tree plant that I could not bring in my house this winter, because of its size, so I put it in the shed outside. Due to some freezing temperatures, I believe my plant was frozen, and now I don't know what to do. Did I kill it or will it come back? Please advise me on what I need to do. Thank you.
If the stems are still alive, then it should come back. This article might help with the plant being cold damaged: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/tips-for-saving-cold-damaged-plants.htm

When my rubber tree gets new leaves, they turn brown and fall off. Why?
There could be a number of reasons for this, including many stress-related factors. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/rubber-tree/rubber-tree-plant-leaves-falling-off.htm
There are small bumps around the outer edges of the leaves. Kinda hard to see them cause they almost blend in. Wondering what I could do to get rid of it. The leaves turn brown and fall.
It sounds like either scale or mealybugs are affecting your plant. This can be treated with neem oil. Here are some articles that should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm

The leaves at the top of the plant are curling. The leaves at the bottom seem to be drying up and falling off. The plant is from my mother's funeral on Dec. 22, 2011. It is still in the pot it came in. Also, when is the growing period of the rubber tree?
Curling leaves are usually indicative of too little water. The best way to check is by inserting your finger into the soil (up to an inch) and see if it feels wet at all. If it's dry, water and if not let it be. This too would cause the leaf drying and dropping. They will go dormant during winter but remain active the rest of the year.

I have a five feet tall indoor rubber plant that was healthy. Now suddenly I noticed that leaves are falling off the plant. What should I do?

Trying to care of a tree that was given to me. It's an indoor plant for me.
They are dormant in the winter time (even though they are kept indoors). Their growth will slow and they will need a little less water. During the dormant season, it may only need to be watered once or twice a month. If the leaves begin to droop, but not fall off, increase the water you give the rubber tree hous plant gradually until the leaves perk back up again.
