for the first time early last year I was given 4 raspberry canes (they didn't fruit). In February I did as instructed and cut them back to ground level, I now have bushes to around 3 ft high but very little has flowered. What have I done wrong? The advice on the internet is confusing and differing.
It is necessary to know the type when pruning. Most will only fruit on older canes, so removing them will remove flowering canes. This article will go into more detail on pruning raspberries: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/raspberry/pruning-raspberry-bushes.htm
Hello and thank you for this wonderful service. I recently headed my two black raspberry plants, each of the long canes. 1 plant looks great and is beginning to develop side lateral branches. The other one just seems to have stopped production, the leaf color has faded to almost yellow, leaves are a little brittle and less vibrant, and canes turned purple. Is there anything I can do to help restore them to vibrancy? Thanks!
I would recommend, first, testing pH and nutrient levels. I suspect a pH swing which will lock out certain nutrients.
Amend according to your testing.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of them so I don't have to check every berry that I pick?
You have to catch them before they burrow into the fruit. Here is more:

There are hundreds destroying the leaves and berries. I need them gone without poisoning my family.

This year the new canes have grown to about 6 foot. Do I just leave them or trim the tops off ?
You need to know if they are everbearing, summer bearing, or fall bearing. This article explains:

I have attached two photos of a weed or grass that germinates any time I weed my raspberry patch. What is it and how can I eliminate it without hurting the berries? Thank you
It looks like crabgrass which is difficult to control. It is best controlled in the spring with a pre-emergent weed killer. Here is more:

They got mowed down in may. I water with other veggie. How do I tell if still active? What are chances produce fruit in fall?
Blackberry plants will laugh off the hard pruning. They will respond by growing back with a vengeance after a couple of years. Typically, this type of damage will recover quite nicely, on its own.
