In the garden, we planted cucumbers and pumpkins this year. The two plants were at oppposite ends of the garden. Yet, this fall we saw a new "creature". It was round like a pumpkin and was in the pumpkin patch, yet it was prickly like a cucumber, smelled like one and has small cucumber seeds. All the literature says this is impossible but this what we got. If it isn't a cross what it?
Did you plant zucchini too? Because they can cross-pollinate with pumpkins.
Texas A&M answered this question:
"Can cantaloupes cross-pollinate with other crops such cucumbers, watermelons, squash or pumpkins?"
A. "Crossing between members of the cucurbit family is rare. If crossing occurs, it will not show up in this year's fruit but will be evident if seed is saved from these fruits to plant in next year's garden. Many people rate off-flavored or strange- colored fruit with cross-pollination, but it is usually caused by environmental conditions or disease."
If you think you've got a true cross-pollination between cucumbers and pumpkins, you should probably contact your local university extension agent. You may have made a discovery.

Large pumpkin, please provide details of what it's called.
My research did not find any pumpkins or squash that looked exactly like this. There is a pumpkin 'One Too Many' that is similar but it has red webbing. It is possible your pumpkin suffers from edema, which is moisture stress. I would consult a pumpkin grower in your area. Here is more:
kin and maize on another portion Please I have a three plots of land for cultivation. All these plots are joined together. Now I want to use one plot for cucumber farming and then the other remaining two plots for maize, cassava and pumpkin farming. My question is can I perfectly carry out these operations, because I read online that there are crops that you need not plant together with cucumber that it might interfere with it's pollination. Secondly can I apply raw pig dug to my cucumber farm as a source of organic manure. Thanks as I await your speedy response
Since cassava is a melon, it would be best to plant it far from the cucumbers. It's not so much a pollination issue, but that they attract the same insects and you could have a very large infestation. Here's a good article with suggested companion plantings: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/vgen/companion-vegetable-garden.htm
You should compost your pig manure before using it. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/composting/manures/pig-manure-compost.htm
Your articles on companion planting recommend planting marjoram with pumpkins to improve the flavor of the pumpkins or planting oregano with pumpkins to deter pests. Unfortunately, I haven't been find any information anywhere on how close or how far away to plant these herbs from the pumpkin plants. I am growing Baby Bear pumpkins.
I'm not finding any pat answers to this, either. Perhaps you can look at the space required between pumpkins and add at least half again that much to allow for the herbs. I've never done this combination, but this is how I'd plan it. I hope these articles will help:

my plant has few pumpkins on it and the leaves started to die from the root and it is progressing through the vine. the plant is watered everyday when it is not raining.
Look for vine borers or squash bugs. This article will help:

What can I do to get them fertilizer
They will need male flowers for hand pollination, or you can wait. Eventually, they will show up, and you can collect them and dry them for use later for their pollen.

Me gustaría saber dónde puedo comprar semillas para su siembra
We do not recommend places to purchase. I would recommend trying local nurseries, or online nurseries for places to purchase.
