I have recently moved to a property that has an abundance of primroses and primulas that have multiplied over the years. It was a wonderful show whilst flowering but now looks very untidy with just the leaves which appear to be increasing in size. I would like to maintain the volume but how do I tidy them for the non-flowering period without harming their multiplication?
Here is a great link with information to keep the plants healthy and growing after they bloom.
I have beautiful primulas but they have more big leaves than flowers.
Are you growing indoors or outdoors?
I have listed two links with information about both applications.

When I bought my primrose, it was dark purple in color but now after a few weeks indoors the flowers turn to light pink. Worst of all one plant is wilted and dying. Please help.
You are describing the natural decline of the flowers on the Primrose plant.
Most Primrose plants that are sold during this time of year, are marketed as a temporary blooming plant.

What size and depth of container should be used for Primrose?
The pot size should accommodate the root ball with just 1 to 2 inches of space left around all sides and the bottom. The crown of the plant (where the plant stem meets the roots) should be level or a little higher than the level of soil in the pot.
How tall will primrose get?
Plants grow 6 to 9" tall.
