sunny spot? My perennial Osteospermum, I have planted in a flower bed which gets both sun and shade. Should I move the plant to a flower bed which gets a little more sun or just leave it where it is? My thought is, even if I plant the flower in a flower bed which gets more sun, when the sun goes in, the Osteospermum will only close up again - like it current does in the bed it is in at the moment, when the sun goes in. Please help as not sure if I should move it or just leave it be? Thank you.
They are annuals, and will die off each year. It is possible that they will come back from seed, but moving them will not be advised. They do like full sun, though. A tray of cosmos have also been dessimated. I wonder if it is a mouse It all happened on the same day overnight.
You may want to check for earwigs or caterpillars. Spraying your plants with neem oil could be helpful. If it's caterpillars, spray with Bt.

I have laid weed suppressing membrane and covered with landscape bark on my flower beds. I’ve planted some beautiful Osteospermums and would like them to spread to their full size but will the membrane prevent this from happening or do they spread above ground anyway? I’m a new and inexperienced gardener so need all the advice I can get please.
They will, likely, still spread just fine as long as you left enough room for the crown to poke through.

I have grown Osteospurmum from cuttings and they thrive in a plant pit but when I plant them into the borders, they wilt and die, almost rot. I have changed the soul and it is still happening. We had about 50 planted by a landscape gardener about 4 years ago and we only now have only about 15 original plants left.
It is likely a root rot issue. Changing the soil alone will not stop the issue. Treating with a fungicide will be necessary, also.

Hi I’m new to gardening and need some help please. I’ve planted some Osteospermum I’ve been dead heading them all summer. They have only just stopped blooming. Do I cut then right back for the winter? I’ve also bought a bare root rose which I’d like to swap with a potted rose Is it ok to do it this time of the year? I’m in the uk,so the weather is very variable Thank you
Likely your Osteospermum will go dormant. You can leave the dead foliage for winter protection, and cut them in spring to prepare for new growth.
If you are in an area and have a type of rose that goes dormant, then during dormancy is the best time to move roses. Otherwise, spring will be preferred.
