I got some stargazer oriental lily. First year I got a nice bloom but next one I notice big change in color of the flowers. I have some other varieties also but only stargazer has this issue. I just wonder is about soil, disease? Thank you, Valentin
Oriental lilies are notorious for having unstable genetics. They will revert back to a common grandparent without reason sometimes. There is nothing to be done, and it may never return to the original color, but it could change again in the future.
My Oriental Lilies are in a pot, and I wrapped it in bubble wrap for the winter with moth balls. When do I take the bubble wrap off and when do I start fertilizing and watering? Growing flowers outside is a new experience for me so keep that in mind when answering.I look forward to your answers.Thank you in advance.
You should be able to leave them out all year, as they are hardy even well far north of you. You can bring these out at any time, and fertilize as soon as you see activity. I have been trying to get Oriental Lilies (orange) grow, I received a magazine today that said you should just toss the seeds on top of the soil? Is that correct?

Do you recommend planting ranunculus in the same pot as Oriental Lilies? I was hoping to find a plant to cover up the empty spot when the leaves of the Oriental Lilies die back.
I cannot find that on any list of companion plants with lilies, however, that is not to say that it wouldn't work. Here is an article on plants that will, for sure, work with Lilies: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/lily/companions-for-lilies.htm
These lilies were a potted gift, but now I need to move them outdoors.

Hello, I would like to start planting casablanca( is that Oriental Lily?) I wonder if I can start now? or I can plant in the container and keep it at basement until maybe May after no more frost? or I can still plant spring? Thank you soooo much!
Casa Blanca lilies are Oriental lilies and you can wait till after the first frost to plant them, in the soil or in containers. They should bloom the first year.

I received an oriental lily for a gift. After reading that they are toxic for cats, I am wondering if it is safe for me to keep it in their area. I have it on a 2 ft stand where we and animals live.
Research indicates that any part of the plant would be quite harmful to your cat. Even if she brushes up against it, getting pollen on her fur, and proceeds to lick it off, or if she were to bite any part of the plant, it would be quite poisonous to her.
The two should not be in the same locale. Here's an article that may help.
