Q.Why the color of my oriental lily changed?

Zone 02056 | paca22la added on July 23, 2018 | Answered

I got some stargazer oriental lily. First year I got a nice bloom but next one I notice big change in color of the flowers. I have some other varieties also but only stargazer has this issue. I just wonder is about soil, disease?
Thank you,
Valentin

Oriental lilies are notorious for having unstable genetics. They will revert back to a common grandparent without reason sometimes. There is nothing to be done, and it may never return to the original color, but it could change again in the future.
