Formerly listed botanically as Origanum heracleoticum, Greek oregano is often commercially grown as Origanum vulgaris, or wild marjoram. This is the variety having pink flowers and most likely the type you have. Origanum vulgaris hirtum, however, is the true Greek oregano with white flowers.

As long as they all share similar growing conditions, then it's fine to plant these next to one another. For additional information on companion planting with herbs, this article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/herbs/hgen/companion-planting-in-your-herb-garden.htm

When we plant herbs, either in the ground or in containers, we take a few things into consideration. Color, moisture requirements, heigth, width, and leaf shape. We try to mix all the elements tohave a visually pleasing and interesting planting. (Unless, we are doing a "mono" planting, where everything is supposed to be similar)

I would try pulling up as much as you can by hand first, especially around your other plants. You can then use any non-selective herbicide containing glyphosate (like Roundup), but make sure it doesn't get on any plants you want to survive. You can normally use a shield of some sort, like cardboard boxes, to protect the other plants by placing it over top of them while spraying. In place of the herbicide, you can try boiling water, but again, this will kill any plant on contact so shield the plants you're keeping.

Generally, no. These herbs are considered deer resistant. However, this does not mean the same thing as deer proof. When hungry enough, deer will eat anything.
