My muhly grass is almost all brown blades, It's been planted for several yrs and I never had this problem. Can I save it?
Since this grass is a semi evergreen, you can have browning of grass over the winter.
You can prune in early spring any brown plant material.

We live in Winston-Salem, NC. Muhly Grass originally planted spring, 2015. We cut it back to 8-10" high in Sept. 2015. So far we only see the dead sprigs. Should we be seeing green growth by now? We're afraid it's all dead. Thank you!
Cutting the grass back should not have been an issue. Many people leave the grass for winter and then cut back in spring.
Give the plants a bit more time to wake up. Applying a light feeding of a balanced fertilizer can help a slow growing plant. Don't over fertilize.

I bought a "blooming" pink muhly grass last fall and potted it and it's on my deck. This past Spring it grew a LOT of long green blades that hung over the edge of the pot. They did not stand up. They just hung over the edge of the pot. I trimmed all of it back hoping for a better look. But no luck. I've used a small tomato cage to support the blades. Not a great look and not what I was hoping for. Also, there are no blooms at all. I have since read that the plant is drought tolerant and I have moved it to a sunnier location. Is there a chance I'll actually get blooms and become a nice stand up grassy plant? Or have I ruined it? I love the pink cloud look and I love how ornamental grasses move in the breeze. Mine fails on both points.
This particular grass enjoys full sun. The symptoms you are describing resembles that of a lack of sunlight. Here is an article that will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/foliage/muhly-grass/growing-muhly-grass.htm
My plant isn’t really getting much pink on it, it growing in a large wooden barrel in a very sunny spot what can be wrong ? This is the second year I’ve had it and even last year it didn’t really get as pink as all the pictures I see.
It is best to fertilize these grasses at least ever 6 months. Make sure to keep the soil moist. Not wet, or dry, but moist.

how do I get mymuhly grass to stand up instead of hanging like a vine?
Hello,
Thank you for sending us your gardening question. The reason for the muhly grass falling over may be due to excess fertilization, excess water, or just that the clump has grown too large, as detailed further in the attached article. For a quick fix, simply use a stake to tie it up. Then employ the remedy as recommended.
