it is in sun half of the day. It is in the same pot that it was in when I bought it. The trunk is about 21/2 ft tall and in about a 9" pot. Should I repot?
If you have not fed it, changed the soil, or otherwise refreshed the plant, it will likely need it.

I live in Palm Springs and bought a madegasgar palm at a local nursery. As soon as I planted it, the leaves wilted and turned dark. Is that normal? Have not overwatered and will ensure it has enough to start but thought that was odd as it was perfectly fine in the pot. The area will have shade 3/4 of the day and full sun 1/4. Thanks
Madagascar Palm, though really a succulent is not hardy outdoors in your zone. They need zone 9 or above to be able to be planted outdoors.
You should keep your new plant in a pot or container. You can try repotting it into the container that is came in and make sure the soil is not wet.

They are supposed to only have leaves and flowers at the tip. If the trunk is wounded it may branch. Here is more:

My plant lives indoor in front of my window in my computer room. It's was doing good until I moved it into a big pot indoor. It' getting tall but not putting leaves on it.
Your palm may still be adjusting to its new situation and may need to be fertilized. I'm concerned it is now in a large pot. If it was transplanted, the pot should only be 1 or 2 sizes larger than the original or root rot can set in.

It’s a young plant and I paid pretty much for it. I live in Florida. It’ was planted 5 months ago and looks pretty but lately it is losing more leaves then usual and I noted brown spots in these. It gets the morning sun and we were told that was good for it. I was told to water a lot immediately after planting and continue for a while. Then water occasionally. We have lots of rain and I thought that would be enough for the plant. I’m very sad about what is going on. Hope you can help.
Likely too much water! You will need to treat with a fungicide, and be sure to let it dry out, pretty thoroughly, between waterings when possible.

My Madagascar palm is an outdoor tree that is about 6 feet tall.Over the winter (I live in southern Florida. It began branching off into four stems then each stem again began branching off into more stems. What should I limit to. Should i limit it to a certain number. It is spring time now. Wha should Ido.
I would just leave it. Trimming may induce more branching, plus there is risk of infection if you prune.

came out the top What is this liquid? Is something wrong with it?
Is it possible it was just some old rainwater that was trapped in the top of the leaves? If not, check for pests under the leaves. Pests such as aphids or scale will exude honeydew.
A bacterial infection might ooze a dark liquid, but your plant looks healthy.
