I have a lot of leaves turning brown in patches. Help?
The browning patches that are in the image could simply be some winter damage, but could also be a more serious disease.
You will need to make further inspections of the branches and trunk of the tree to pinpoint the cause if it is a fungus or due to pests.
The links below will help you.

Want to plant for privacy, how fast do they grow?Height/Width? thank you! J. Freed
How much room do you have? Leyland cypress can grow 35 to 40 feet and 6 to 12 feet wide. They also need full sun and plenty of water til established. First year growth is about a foot and after that 3 to 4 feet per year.
Idk to call it a Cypress or not. I don't think it produces those white, spikey seed pods that are known of the Cypress bush. If you know what it is, I'd love to know. Thx
I believe it's a Leland Cypress.

Treating for needle blight and need to prune. When do Leyland cypress bud out?
It is best to prune this tree in summer. This will give you the best results without harming your tree.
This article will explain in more depth:https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/leyland-cypress/pruning-leyland-cypress.htm
I've been told that if the limbs are broking on the trees this will kill the trees. Is this so? I had a few big oaks on my property that were dead. They were most likely over 100 years old. When one of them fell it fell into the Leyland's and broke some of the limbs and now I'm being told that these too will be dieing.. Please let me know if there's a way to say them. Thank you so much. Mary Bates
More than likely, your tree will recover. Just remove anything that is dying off from the damage. In fact, here is an article that will help you in pruning the tree. Just be careful not to cut off Too much newer growth.

We have moved house and have inherited a leylandii hedge over 9 feet tall. It is completely dead inside. Can we cut it down a foot or two? if so when?
You can trim it up if you would like. It is best to do this in summer. Here is an article for more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/leyland-cypress/pruning-leyland-cypress.htm
If I break a branch from my Leyland tree and plant it into the ground will it reroute and grow again?
The bigger the branch, the less likely it will be to take root. With trees such as this it can take months to grow roots. It is best to use a rooting hormone, and keep the branch in a moist ,but not sopping wet, environment.
