Our church planted over $4,000 worth of Jasmine for ground cover last year on an embankment. Someone with good intentions mowed the entire embankment a few days ago. It had some unwanted grass and small pines growing in it which we were pulling up. It's rainy season (March). We want to know when to fertilize and when to spray a weed or grass killer. Do you think the plants will regrow themselves?
I assume that you are referring to Asian Jasmine, commonly planted as a ground cover.
This evergreen ground cover needs generally only 1 pruning a season, late winter.
In large areas such as you mention, you can use a mower and trim to about 4" in height.
When the buds break in spring, it should not take long before the Jasmine bounces back with new growth.
If the plants were new and not well established, you may see some winter loss and less aggressive growth.
Keep in mind that Asiatic Jasmine can take up to 3 seasons to grow a good ground cover--if you used small plugs for the plantings. Less time if you used larger plants.
A light fertilizer can be applied 3 or 4 times throughout the growing season.
Weed and grass killers are herbicides and will kill everything it touches--including your Jasmine. Hand pulling weeds is the safest way.
Mulching is a good defense against weeds.

I have a seed pod on a Madagascar jasmine that I bought at local store and planted in my garden. The seed pod is a bit larger than an avocado but I do not know how long it has been on the plant. I would like to start another vine with this pod but I am not knowledgeable as to how to do this. If someone could tell me how to prep the pod for replanting I would appreciate the help. Thank you
Congratulations, a seed pod is rare.

I have a potted J. Sambac Grand Duke of Tuscany that has lost all leaves over winter in an unheated sunroom (temp kept 60-65). Many stems still strong and green. Checked root ball, no mushy roots but not white either. Repotted in smaller pot. Anything I can use to help the leaf buds swell to make new leaves? Looks like whatever tries to grow is all brown.
I would start introducing sunlight and warmer temperatures to your plant to try to wake it up.

What is correct pH and type of soil?
Jasmine prefer a ph range of 6.1 to 7.5.

Is it possible to save a Jasmine plant that has brown leaves from the cold? My Jasmine plant was hit hard by cold and snow. It's not completely brown, maybe one third of the leaves. Will fertilizer help and, if so, what type?
You can prune away the dead or damaged plant material.
Do not try to fertilize it into health when it is stressed.
Wait to fertilize when the plant is actively growing again.

I have had a white and a yellow jasmine for about 3 years now. The leaves are beautiful but neither one has bloomed. So disappointed. Must be doing something wrong.
