I 'winter' geraniums in my house in a sunny window during the winter. Should I cut them down before they go outside? They will still be inside for at least a month, depending in the weather. Thank you.
Yes, you can prune up your spindly plants.
This article will help you.

In 2014 while in Griffith I took a cutting from what looked like ground cover and planted it in my garden in Westmead NSW. It is growing quite well though I have no idea what it is called or how to look after it.I have attached a photo of it & would appreciate any help I can get re name & how to care for it. Many thanks Alan Currie
You are growing Hardy Geranium Cranesbill.
They come in many, many different colors and even double petal varieties.
I grow these in my garden and they are very hardy!

I want to prune back my leggy geraniums. But I want to plant what I cut back. Do I just poke them into prepared pots. Do I use new or old stems?

My hardy geranium is healthy and thriving, but it no longer flowers. Is there a remedy for this?
You could have too much nitrogen in your soil.
Excess nitrogen can cause a nice green plant but little or no flowering.
You can have your soil tested to make corrections.
A dose of phosphorous is a great way to boost flowering.
Bone Meal is a great organic amendment.

The leaves on our Geraniums are turning red and look like they are dying
Over or under watering puts the plant under stress and the leaves can turn red.
Geraniums prefer to be planted in loose, well draining soil.
Exposure to low temperatures can also cause the leaves to turn red.
If the ph of the soil is too low the plant is not able to take up nutrients. Ph should be about 6.5

I want to fill the barrel with red geraniums and have a white edging all around....wld white allysum look good? can you buy allysum as a small plant? I only seem to see seeds advertised.
Yes, you can buy Allysum annual plants. Check with your local garden centers and greenhouses. This a common plant and should be available locally.
This sounds like a lovely combination.

Will geraniums last through the intense heat and sun in AZ summer? Ours seem to be dying quickly now. They're in full sun.
I would place them in part shade, specifically afternoon shade. This article should help
