FRUIT GETS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL THEN FALLS OFF TREE. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM?
Sudden drops in temperatures, rain or watering fluctuations, disease, pests, nutrient issues and poor pollination are all reasons for bud or fruit dropping.
Some fruit selectively drops also.
This article addresses the issue, in Lemon Trees though the issue is the same.

Hi i am lost I need help with my trees i have fruit trees for couple of years and I don't understand why my trees have no fruits on it or some it has but it's don't look like nice and healthy fruits and also i need to get ready of this buggy that's eating my trees and flowers
We can give you some specific information if we know the fruit trees that you are growing.
My Marjorie Seedling Plum (on medium stock), 2 James Grieves Apples (on dwarf stock) & Conference pear, all have 2 or 3 branches where the leaves & blossom have appeared later than the other branches & have remained tiny not developing. Can you help please? Regards Hazel
When a late season cold snap fries the foliage, new leaves will emerge to take their place. In the event tree branches suffer dieback, you may cut back dead limbs to healthy growth to improve appearance.
Give the trees more time to fully leaf out and then make pruning decisions.
I have a pear tree in a container , it has small fruit on it but there is a lot of new growth , can I half trim new growth so the goodness goes to the fruit rather than put on longer branches , this similar thing has happening to an apple tree which is planted in the ground , please am seeking your advice .
Pear Tree pruning is done in late winter.

Hi I have a five year old plum tree which produced masses of fruit last year so much so that being inexperienced I did not support a couple of the more heavily laden branches and they snapped off. I had some die back during last year where the tips of newer growth would die back as well as aphid issues but nevertheless the tree still cropped magnificently. This year initially the tree made good growth even new shoots from the base of the snap off, but again the end leaves of the new young shoots curled and died followed by a slow progress of dying back along the wood. I have tried pruning out the dying ends but when any new growth appears it again dies back. The tree still has a crop but not as expected as many as last year. I would appreciate advice of treatment, cure or removal. Thank You. I have sparrow and tit boxes in use and they love the aphids so I don't spray till the young have fledged.
I've listed several links for you to read and compare your tree issues with.
I would suggest you take leaf samples to your County Extension Office for a hands on diagnosis.
A soil test may also be a good idea, to rule out soil nutrient issues.

I've been looking all over the internet with help for this specific problem, but I haven't found the answer anywhere, so I decided that this is the best place to ask. I am growing an apricot tree from seed and it has been doing very well. It is still in a pot and is a little over a foot tall but is very healthy. However, something came along and snipped off the tip of the tree where all the new growth was coming up and now my tree has stopped growing upwards! Of course, there are around 5 healthy branches that are still growing, but it's not getting any taller!
Pruning is generally done during dormancy, and the leader is actually pruned down in most stone fruits.
