I found seeds while they are still green. Can I dry them out? Will they turn black on their own?
MY 4 o'clocks are going to seed now. Can I plant some of the seeds in another place now and will they come up in the spring?
In your area, you will want to plant them a week before the last frost date in early spring. They are not completely hardy in your area, and the seeds will likely be killed off by the cold winter.

can four o'clock tubers be kept more than one winter and still grow again? also, the same question for tri-color caladium. my climate is practically tropical, but i have stored them in dry soil in flower pots.
Some of them may die, but you should still get a few to germinate. It is always best to get them growing after about a year in storage to prevent die off.

Four O'Clocks have the ability to change color and that may have happened. Or they may have reverted to original parentage. They are very colorful and can have different colors on the same stem.
I would harvest some of his seeds and see what you get in colors.
