I purchased two potted forsythia bushes, due to personal medical reasons I was not able to put them in the ground. I still have them in their pots. Are these potted forsythias still viable to plant? If so, how can I revive them and make sure that they produce some flowers in the coming years? Thank you. Gwendolyn
If they have some life to them, you can attempt to revive them with proper care. These articles will help:

Depends on many reasons, such as did they get enough water so the roots are still alive, how long you did not take care of them, does the potting soil still have nutrients, etc.You can use a scratch test to see if the branches are still green. If not, the roots may still be alive and, if so, there should be new growth in spring. If still alive, check to see if the roots are circling the pots.
I live in East Oakland , Ca
Forsythias are very popular shrubs so I'm sure you can find one at a local nursery or garden center. Big box stores will carry them, too.

Hi My forsythia is 17 years old and this past winter twisted one of the larger limbs but it did not break. I can see through it as there's a large slit where the twist happened but the limb is still connected as it's budding. But it's hanging and I wonder if there's some kind of organic glue I can use to repairing it?
Tape is used instead of glue. This article should help:

Very old forsythia. Just noticed lots of these “growths” on oldest branches. Insects? Disease? See photo. Thanks in advance
This is likely what is going on:

Our grand forsythia bush has for the last two years had very poor color and blooms. It comes out nicely in a green bush afterwards. We are thinking to do a major pruning and cut it back close to the ground, in the hopes it will rejuvenate next Spring. This bush is probably 20 years old. I call it the 'extrovert' for its the first so 'speak up' in the Spring. Any thoughts?
Cutting it to about 4 inches from the ground will rejuvenate it. Wait till after the blooms fade to cut it back.
