I planted some forget me nots seeds in may. Do I need to cut them back before winter ?
Forget me nots die back completely with frost. If the plants look ragged and unsightly, it is fine to trim it now. Some forget me nots are annuals, some perennials. Both self sow, sometimes to a nuisance level, if the plant is allowed to go to seed. At times, plants die back in the heat of summer and are treated as spring ephemerals. It all depends on which species or hybrid you purchased.
Hi I have some tiny blue flowers growing in my garden. I have attached a picture. They were in one spot in the garden but they now appear to be spreading in their patch but also in other parts of the garden. Are these flowers actually weeds?? They look too pretty to be weeds but they just seem to be spreading.
Many of the ornamentals that people grow are weeds, somewhere! This one, Forget-me-nots, happens to be very invasive in many areas.
This article will help you to control them:

i planted just 10 seeds in a hanging basket and there is now a lot of thick foliage but also mildew on a lot of leaves.
I'm including links for three articles to help you with this. You'll need to make sure your plants are not sitting in soil that's too wet, that they have good air circulation. You will need to use a fungicide; the last of these articles will tell you how to make your own at home:

Should I dig them up in order to insure Spring flower?
How fortunate to see another bloom so late in the summer. One the heat of summer has reached its peak, the blooming will usually dwindle. To the best of my knowledge, there's no need to dig up the plants unless your ground freezes deeply; this plant re-seeds itself and should come back up in the spring.

Do I have to freeze flower seeds until I plant them?
If you already have the seeds, you can keep them in the refrigerator or freezer to keep them fresh till spring or in a cool, dark location since it's just for a short time. Here are some tips.

My nephew passed away and his flower was forget me nots. I have some seeds which are currently growing but I read they die off at the end of the season and self seed.
So sorry about your nephew - please accept our condolences.
Usually, if you do not remove the flowers, they will dry up, drop off and re-seed themselves. Forget me nots do this quite well - just don't pluck the flowers off.
