Forget me nots die back completely with frost. If the plants look ragged and unsightly, it is fine to trim it now. Some forget me nots are annuals, some perennials. Both self sow, sometimes to a nuisance level, if the plant is allowed to go to seed. At times, plants die back in the heat of summer and are treated as spring ephemerals. It all depends on which species or hybrid you purchased.
