Kakawate spray: add 6-8 liters dry volume chopped fresh kakawate leaves to 1 gallon of water. Allow to soak for two days, then filter out leaves. Add one tablespoon of liquid soap to the liquid. Mix and spray for treating aphids, cabbage loopers, and mosquitoes. While it is thought useful in deterring corn borers, I am not sure about other types; however, since it is organic, it never hurts to try.
The new little eggplants are funny shaped and have what looks like power on them. I had to pull off and throw away about 12 yesterday. I don't see any sign of bugs.

My eggplant plant is full of flowers for a month now, but not fruiting. Is there something wrong?
You may have an issue with pollination or too much nitrogen fertilizer, which can result in many flowers but little to no fruit. Offsetting it with phosphorus may help with this. What are the collars in the article?
Plant collars are simply a form of protective barrier placed around the stem of plants. Some types may even go around the plant's base. They are available through most garden retailers. Many people will also make their own from plastic container lids (to go around base) or toilet paper/paper towel tubes (to go around stem).
