Hello, First off, I want to tell you how much you have taught me and I want to thank you. My problem, I've had for years and would like to know what I'm doing wrong. I have ' clumps ' of bulbs, narcissus & various daffodils growing around my yard. I have separated some of them out to singles because they weren't blooming but that didn't even help. They still don't bloom. All I have are these clumps of green. Unfortunately the snails love them so that's a never ending battle. I see ' clumps ' of them growing along the freeways with even less sun then mine are in, so what am I doing wrong?? Your input would sure be a big help. Thanks again, Carolyn P.S. I also leave the tops to dry but braid them or rubber band them together so they don't lay all over the place. I have no photos
There are several possible causes for narcissus/daffodils to fail to bloom. Braiding the tops while they're still green may impair food storage and next year's flowers. These articles will help you find the culprit:

It sounds like you have most of these issues covered, but here's our article on the topic:

I'd like some perineals to put in my raised bed so I have color after my daffodils die. I'm in zone 8 near Salem Oregon.
Here is a list of zone 8 perennials.

This year my daffodils and narcissi produced lots of green leaves and not one single flower. What could have been the reason ?
This can be due to an excess of nitrogen or a lack of phosphorus. Either of which can be fixed by adding phosphorus and potassium to the soil. This will, usually, correct this issue. Here is an article that will offer more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/daffodil/daffodils-not-blooming.htm
I have never had any success when lifting and storing daffodil bulbs after flowering in patio containers/ I let the foliage die back and keep the bulbs in a wooden shed which gets quite warm on sunny days, is that the problem?
It can be... They do tend to like the cold, depending on what zone you are in. This collection of articles will give you more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/daffodil/
I have a small area I want to plant with perennials. I thought lots of daffodils for the spring and daylilles , which I think bloom Juky , August(?). What other low maintenance perennials should I plant to give colour in June? I live in Columbus Ohio and this particular area is south facing, so will get the sun all day long. The area is in front of a fence and about 22 feet long and on,y 3 feet wide. Thank you
There are so many daylily varieties that you could do the entire 22 feet in different colors and sizes. The tall ones may be cramped in 3 ft is your bed abuts a sidewalk. Other options are Walker's Low catmint and perennial Salvia like "May Night". Both bloom in June and flowers are blue which will contrast nicely with the daylily. You might want to intersperse a vertical element like Indian grass, Sorghastrum nutans.
Can you please identify the daffodil in the picture( it was in a pack of thalia daffodils- but look nothing like it )
It looks like Narcissus White Marvel to me but searching google images brings up other possibilities. White Marvel is a hybrid.
Ourdaffodils bloomed the first year. Second and now third year, no flowers. Perplexed.
What zone are you located in? This could have something to do with temperature. These need a cold period to recharge its ability to bloom.
Alternatively, there may be too much nitrogen, or not enough phosphorus and potassium to support healthy blooming. You can correct this by adding a high phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. This will offset the nitrogen.
Adding dolomitic lime can also help raise the pH if it is too low. This can make nitrogen more available while locking out phosphorus and potassium. Bringing this back up to neutral will help set the balance back.
