You have information on how to care for the chocolate scented Cosmos. I need to know where I can find them! I saw them (and smelled them! yum) at Butchart Gardens in BC. But they didn't sell the seeds in their shop, and I cannot find them ANYWHERE! I've started a butterfly garden, and it's doing very well. I think these cosmos would be fantastic for them!
Our site cannot recommend specific suppliers, but I think this plant is available from some online retailers. You could also try asking around garden clubs and organizations in case a member is willing to share seeds or plants with you. Good luck.
How can you keep them in the winter for next year?
Save the seeds! This is a great way to propagate the plant for next season.
If you are growing your Cosmos in a pot, you can also allow the plant to go completely dormant.
Then store the container in a cool but frost free space. Garage or shed that stays just above freezing will work.
You can also lift the root and crown and store them much as you would Dahlia roots.

My cosmos flowers were growing well and then started to shrivel up and distort prior to dying off. Why is this happening?
Distortion of flowers can be due to insects or disease.
Inspect the plant to see if you see any issues.
Treat the plants with Neem Oil. Neem Oil works as both an insecticide and fungicide.
It is also safe for people, pets and bees.

when can cosmos plants be planted please
Cosmos won't weather a freeze well, so you need to wait until frosts in your area are historically behind you. (You don't say where you're located.)
One way to figure out the average last frost dates in your area is to go here: https://davesgarden.com/guides/freeze-frost-dates/#b
Place: Kerala, South India Current Temperature: 30-35 degree Celsius Hi, I've recently grown some dwarf cosmos sensation mix from seeds and transplanted it to a wooden container as shown in the picture. I've been waiting all the time desperately to see it blooming. But unfortunately as the flowers started to appear, it was all crippled and twisted and even the leaves of some plants were drying up and some plants even completely wilted and I had to throw it away. Please tell me what's happening and can anything be done? Krishna
Distorted flowers can be a sign of the Leafhopper pests.

I have a white trail not powder but on the actual leaf of mostly all of my leaves of the all my tomato plants, can you tell me what it is? I do not see any worms or catapillars or eggs on the leaves or underside of the leaves. I am spraying seven dust/liquid every three days and watering every other day. I am feeding once after two weeks.
You have an insect known as leaf miners. They are within the layers of your tomato leaves. They are difficult to control when found in a plant producing an edible crop since you cannot use systemic insecticides. Neem Oil may help, but read the label prior to purchase to see if it lists both leafminers and tomato plants for control and safety. If the plants are producing fine and the leafminers are not in other plants you may just want to put up with the ugly leaves.
My cosmos are all turning black and dying. It looks like they have little knats around the leaves. We live in south AL and it has been raining just about every day here for weeks. I just purchased them in a container and planted them along the fence line. One bush is doing great but the other two have black leaves. Should I cut them down? Help! Janice
It sounds like Aphids on your flowers and plants.
I would treat them with Neem Oil. Neem Oil is organic and safe for people, pets and Bees.
Neem Oil is an insecticide and also works as a fungicide.
You may need to repeat the treatment every 7 to 10 days.
