I have just recently moved and in the garden is a wisteria crown that has no foliage above half of the plant. It is also in a very large pot. Why are curling up at the edges? Any ideas?
Inspect your vine for pests or signs of disease.
Curling leaves can be an indication of an infestation.

We have had our wisteria in a wine barrel for 1-1/2 years. It is starting to turn yellow and loosing leaves. I don't know much about wisteria. Is this the normal season change for it? We live in California, Sonoma County. I am not sure if it is root bound, the root ball is too exposed, or if we are watering it too much or not enough. It gets morning sun, afternoon shade. Hopefully you have used a good quality, commercial grade potting mix in your container.
It should be a mix of compost, peat and perlite to support the plant but allow good drainage.
The Wisteria should receive a fertilizer application each spring such as an all purpose formulation or even one that is suited for Tomatoes.
Look for a ratio of 5-10-5.
Check the container and soil daily, you may need to water even twice a day in temperatures above 85 degrees.
Wisteria is relatively drought tolerant, but the soil should never dry out.
Make sure that the containers drainage holes are not blocked and that excess water is draining from the container.
Do wisteria plants do well in pots
Yes, you can grow Wisteria in containers.

I have wisteria vine in clay pot. This is it's first year of growth. The plant is growing good. The temperature in my area is 43 degree centigrade, plant gets 5 hours sunlight. I was using NPK on almost each watering but stopped now. I used cow dung while preparing the soil. I am observing that new leaves are not as green as old leaves (when I purchased it from nursary) and spots have appeared on them too. What is the reason of this and how can I cure? Regards.

My friend has recently bought a Wisteria plant. She has potted it in a large pot with trellis to train it grow up. she is in a flat which is 6 stories high and this is on her balcony. She has just seen that a lot of leaves have large bites on them. do you know what is causing this and if so, how does she get rid of them? Thank You.
There could be many pests that are eating leaves of plants. The best treatment is Neem Oil.
Neem Oil is organic and is safe for people, pets and Bees.

Wisteria is an aggressive growing vine and can easily become invasive. Growing in a large container is possible, but the vines can still infiltrate a homes structure if left to attach itself.
Constant pruning and training unto a trellis will be needed to keep the vine 'contained in the pot'.

I am in Boise, ID and the winters get pretty cooled!! Have seen a lot of article's on winterizing potted plant but nothing on Wisterias!! Can someone please tell me what to do? They are in 3' high clay pots that are 14" diameter.. Should I wrap the pots with some insulation?
As long as the temps don't get below -15 or -20, the plant will survive. It is hardy from zones 5 to 9, and it looks like most of your state falls within range. If you are concerned, it wouldn't hurt to wrap something around them to keep them warm on the coldest nights.
