I have yellow leaves on my gardenia. Does this mean it has a disease or deficient in something? I also have a camellia, which has many flowers, though prior to opening they have brown marks on them and when open only last for a very short period of time.

My elderly mum had a lovely potted Camellia bush, which sadly in the last few years wasn't looked after only because mum was in poor health. That said, it always flowered and looked green/healthy. My mum passed away last year. I moved the plant to my house but everything has turned brown. There did seem to be a little bit of green growth on some of the leaves, but that seems to have gone to. Have I done something wrong/ I only added extra soil/potting compost to the pot and I've watered it. Can you advise me what to do?
It sounds like it is lacking in humidity. I would either mist it daily (or at least a few times a week) or set it on a pebble tray with water to raise the humidity around it.
No flowers formed this year.
I would add phosphorus to the soil. A lack of phosphorus will cause a lack of blooms.
Wonder if you can help. I have had my Camellia for 5 yrs and up until recently most of the leaves have turned brown and the buds are falling off. I have read that it is probably sun scald? If it is, is there anything I can do to rescue the plant?
It should recover on its own. If desired, you can trim back the brown foliage.
I would like to know if you can propagate camellias and how.
Yes, you can. This article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/camellia/growing-camellias-how-to-propagate-camellias.htm
My question is about pruning. I have one that has grown to about 8 feet. Should I cut it down half way?

I have two potted camellias. One is a Sasanqua and the other is a Japonica. Each is in a different location with correct exposure. They are both dropping leaves, not all but some. They do not appear to have any bugs or diseases. The leaves that are dropped look healthy. Can you explain this?
Excessive leaf drop my indicate overfertilizing or be a sign of too much/too little water. In addition, it could be a sign of leaf gall.
