After I harvest my Broccoli, can I freeze it?
To freeze broccoli, wash thoroughly and cut the florets and stalks into pieces. Steam or blanch these for about five minutes. Plunge into icewater, drain and place in sealed freezer bags or containers. Frozen broccoli can be store up to 12 months.
My broccoli is approximately 45 days planted from seed. The plants are large and appear to be in good condition. We did spray for beetles. We are not getting any stocks or edible parts. This also happened last year. Is there something that needs to be done to get edible stalks?
It may be due to excess heat, broccoli like cooler temperatures.

I got my 1st head of broccoli and now will see if some smaller heads form. After this, do I just pull out the entire plant and grow something else in its place?
You can continue to harvest the little side florets that form.

We have 3 broccoli plants that we have planted and they had started to show a bit of a broccoli head, but they are really wide. A friend told us about tying up the broccoli plant so it's not as wide and apparently helps it grow better. Is this a common practice or a myth? We have been having extremely hot weather here in Michigan this summer and have tried to keep the garden cool.
You would not need to tie up a Broccoli plant.

I got the plants in late (June) but they have done well. The heads look weird and I don't know if I need to cut them now. See the yellow parts and the blue/green parts. The green is starting to open up but the yellow has a ways to go to even open. What should I do? It is hot here and is going to stay that way for a while.

I want to remove my broccoli, cabbage, and Brussels sprout plants that are over infested with worms and eggs so I can reclaim the soil and do some late summer planting. What do I need to do to the soil to eliminate worms in the soil? Thanks.
I would treat with Neem OIl.
This is effective in treatment of insects and fungus problems.

My broccoli plants are huge, but no broccoli. Why am I getting them so huge but not any broccoli?
This could be due to warm weather and environmental stresses or lack of nutrients.
