Q.Sunburnt Orchid:(

Zone Sydney NSW Australia 2101 | Cbtonner@optusnet.com added on July 29, 2017 | Answered

Hi, I overwatered my orchid and I put it in the sun to dry out a wee bit. Unfortunately it got badly sunburnt. Should I now remove this leaf? Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.
Regards Barbara

In the off chance you are a smoker, use gloves when handling orchids as you can spread mosaic virus from the tobacco in the cigarettes to the orchids. This is the general rule for all orchids. Really virulent virus. Hope you orchid is recovering well.

Yes, you can remove the damaged leaf. Always use sterile tools on an orchid.
