Q.String of pearls succulent plant

Zone 45385 Xenia, Ohio | Jposton added on May 7, 2016 | Answered

I purchased this plant about a week ago. I planted two plants in two small clay pots outside. Both plants were small. After several days, some of the beads turned white. What would cause this?

If the "white" color is actually a powdery-like substance, it could be some mineral residue from the water you may have used to water the plants. More than likely the plants are experiencing a little "shock" from the replant and once they adjust to the new pots and conditions they should be fine. Be sure to not overwater and hopefully you placed them in a sandy-type soil.
