Q.Strange Growth From Indoor Sago Palm

Zone Indoor--Buffalo NY area | srqwolf added on July 10, 2022 | Answered

Greetings! Earlier this year I bought a sago palm on clearance (yay!). About a month later a skinny growth appeared…it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s now about 15+\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” tall but looks NOTHING like the fronds. There are tiny \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’curly-cue\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’ things on the entire length of the growth. What the heck is it?

It is, in fact, a frond. It is, however, lacking light. If you cannot put it in full sun, then you may need a grow light of about 100 watts or greater to put over it.
