Q.Stephanotis blooms falling off before blooming

rolakp added on August 2, 2017 | Answered

I am misting it every day, not watering much, in a sunny spot, no direct sun. Why are the blooms falling while closed before they actually bloom?

Stephanotis will drop buds when stressed.
Ideal temperatures should be between 70 and 80 degrees F.
Overwatering and underwatering container-grown plants can cause sudden bud drop. Ensure the container you are using has drainage holes in the bottom, or excess water will puddle around the roots. When watering, soak the soil thoroughly until water starts to seep out the bottom. Allow the top 1/2 to 1 inch of soil to dry out before watering again. Lack of humidity will also cause bud drop. To increase humidity, place a saucer filled with pebbles under the container, and fill the saucer half full with water. As the water evaporates, it will increase the humidity around the plant. Another option is to keep it in a humid bathroom.
