Covering the bare root lupin with mesh provides protection from further squirrel damage. With proper care and protection, the lupin has a good chance of recovering. Ensure that the mesh allows sunlight and airflow while preventing squirrels from accessing the plant. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and monitor the plant closely for signs of new growth. With patience and attention, the lupin should be able to recover from the setback.
