Q.Split Trunk On A Young Wisteria Tree

Zone 97302 | Amber Giddings added on May 22, 2023 | Answered

I have a two year old wisteria tree that I just took out of the pot and put it into the ground. I\\\’m planning to make it grow into a tree, rather than a climbing vine by clipping the bottom trailing vines. There is a split about 10 inches from the base. Should I cut one of the splits off to make it grow straight up or is a double trunk ok?

That will be, completely, up to you! If you would like to keep a double trunk then it would not harm anything. However, pruning is OK as well. These articles will help:
