Q.something eating edges of christmas cactus
Something is eating the edges of the leaves on my Christmas Cactus. We do not have any pets. I can’t seem to find any bugs on it, but it seems to be getting worse. It is a large old plant and has been doing fine until recently. We live in Sarasota, FL. I keep it under an outside enclosed lanai. I’ve even noticed some of the edges of leaves on the cuttings I have started are being eaten. This was my grandmother’s plant. Please help!
Thank you,
Donna
It sounds very much like slugs or snails are munching on your plant. They generally come in the night and you see no signs of them on the plant.
The easiest way to protect the plant right away would be to move it to a safer location until you can rid the area of the pests.
