Q.SOMETHING IS CHEWING THE BASE OF MY BLACKBERRY STEMS

They chew up the base…Its not bugs…is there anything i can spray on the stems…I think that they could be rabbits….I have had these berries for several years and this is the first year they have stripped the bark off the berry stems…They chew up about 8 inches
