Small White, Hard Shell Egg In Soil

Can someone tell me what might have laid this egg or left it in my mint plant soil pls?

It looks like a bird has made its nest in your plant! It would be hard to ID the bird without seeing it, though. Likely, it will not harm your plant, and is just using it as a nest for now.
