Q.Sky pencil holly care

Zone Yukon, ok | Craig.wheeler added on June 30, 2016 | Answered

My sky pencil holly is on the east side of house, planted approximately 9 months ago. In last couple weeks, it has started turning brown and some shoots look to be dying. Soil is moist down 10 to 12″. Any suggestions?

Verify the planting and growing conditions needed in the link below.

Make sure that the soil is well draining.
If you have applied mulch, pull the mulch back from the trunk by 6 inches.

I'm not sure on what growing zone you are in, but in zones 8 and 9, the Holly will need an afternoon shade location.
