Shrubs That Grow in Wet Soil Conditions

Question

What kind of shrubs grow well in wet soil conditions? I am in North Carolina and the soil type is red clay that I have worked with soil conditioner, so it is ready to be planted. The area is for foundation shrubs around a deck and receives afternoon sun.
