Q.Should I Throw Out Veggie Tables My Dog Licked From The Garden?
Hi! We have a fence around our raised garden but someone left it open today (husband ?) and I found our dog in there with his nose in the soil near the romaine lettuce ?. This is our first garden and I don’t know what to do. I kind of want to ?and throw them all out. Not sure if he licked the lettuce. I tried to look online and found your site. I would love to know your opinion on whether or not we should throw the lettuce away. I know that sounds extreme but I’m not sure I want to eat it if he licked at it ?. Thanks for any help and advice. Melissa

This article is about pets in the kitchen but is similar to what you are asking. If the lettuce is washed well before eating I think it is OK. If the dog was just around one plant, I would probably toss it anyway, but not the whole garden.

No, you should not throw out the vegetable tables your dog licked from the garden. Instead, you should wash them off thoroughly with soap and water to remove any bacteria that may have been transferred.
