Q.SHould I Be Worried That A Small Green Spiky Ball Is Growing Where A Flower Of My Forget Me Not Plant Is?

I gre forget me knots from seed a couple months ago and they have been blooming occasionally, but I started to notice that where the flowers come from some have this small green ball and when I touch it its slightly spikey

It kinda looks like one of those spiky yellow caterpillars that have been invading. There are many kinds and sizes. I'd need a much closer photo to see some detail. If this is the case, they will curl up into a tight ball, exposing their prickly side outwards and staying still. Just keep in mind that they are all poisonous if you happened to get poked into your skin. Most people can handle them without this happening, though.

Since you have a much closer look, you might poke around with a stick and see what happens If you notice that it is a part of the plant, then it could be a flower mutation.

You can take samples to your local extension service. They can get a good ID on it, since they can see and hold it for themselves.
