Q.shade cloth

Zone 92234 | Lynda Anderson added on May 22, 2017 | Answered

I live in Palm Springs CA and it is hitting 110 this week. I am covering some of my plants and wondered if burlap is the best material if the cloth is touching the plant? I heard that tha vinal/nylon if it touches the plant can burn it more. Your thoughts

I often use burlap as an inexpensive shade material for some tender plants.

Avoid the cloth or screen touching the plants.
Setting it up in a tent type manner is best. Make sure the plants still have plenty of air circulation.
