Q.Severe Pruning Of Loropetalum
I have a loropetalum shrub that is approximately 20 years old. It wasn’t pruned at all for many years. Now when I trim it, I’m basically cutting off all of the greenery, leaving ugly, bare limbs. It seems to only have leaves on the outer edges of the bush. I would like to prune it back as much as possible and “start over” with its growth in hopes of creating a more pleasing appearance. How can I accomplish this and when should I do it?
