My schefflea leaves are dropping off. Is this normal or do I need to take steps to stop them from falling off?

I have brought many of these back from death. There are a few things that usually happen to cause this. A lack of light, and nutrients will be the first things to correct. It won't tolerate full sun, but it does need very bright, indirect light. I would fertilize with an all purpose slow release every year. This will bring it back to life.
