Running butter beans

Question

What fertilizer should I be using to grown butter beans. For the last two years I have had all bush and very little beans that ever matured. We keep our garden watered and everything else did fine.

All plant and no beans could indicate an excess of Nitrogen in the soil.
I would suggest a soil test to determine your soil content.
