Q.Ruby Spice Clethra Leaves Curling, Deformed, And No Flowers

Zone Denver, CO 80209 | Anonymous added on September 4, 2023 | Answered

I planted 2 clethra last summer and they did well with flowers by August. This summer the upper leaves have started curling and there are no flowers. What could be causing this?

Spider mites can be a problem with cleathra, especially if it is planted in a hot, dry site. They perform best in shaded areas in moist, well-drained acidic soil. Compare your growing conditions with those below.
