Q.Rose Of Sharon Tree Branch Is Breaking From The Tree
New homeowner and new gardener. The branch that is breaking off of the tree is dead, the rest starting to grow leaves. How do I cut off the dead branch without damaging the rest of the tree. Also the bark of the tree seems to be breaking throughout the tree. Is that normal for Rose of Sharon and what can I do to help the health of the tree? Lastly there is a palm growing close to the tree and it’s branches are intermingling with the hibiscus. Is that probably the cause of the issue? Thanks for your help

Cut off the dead branch at its point of origin. Rose of Sharon is resilient and responds well to pruning. Since rose of Sharon grows quickly, I suggest moving it and let the palm have the space. Here is how:
